The beginning of our story dates back to the 70s, when a 6-year-old boy went to Slovakia (Turecka) regularly to ski with his parents. Thanks to his parental ingenuity, he managed to find perhaps the most romantic accommodation in the conditions at the time. It was a two-storey house with a huge fireplace, mostly made of wood, which its semi-Hungarian owners only rented to us and our friends.
This period was deeply ingrained in the memories of the said boy, and although many years have passed since then, this image has not only survived, but was reborn in Mátraszentistván, as the realization of the dream of a family father with two children.

There was a supportive family, a wife blessed with refined taste and persevering, helpful parents and a determined husband to knead the experience of many years of skiing, hiking travel together with the defining childhood experiences to build this guest house, which will hopefully provide a lasting and heartwarming experience.

From the very first moment of the design, we adhered to a few principles: We definitely wanted to create a family-style guest house that harmoniously fits into the environment and markedly bears the style of Mátra, where we would like to relax. It was also important that the building had excellent energy properties and that environmental awareness was reflected in every detail in order to serve a demanding target audience that cared about itself and its surroundings. One of the goals of our guesthouse is that its location, orientation and panorama, with its closeness to nature, emphasize and replace everything that is increasingly missing from our rushed life: Silence, tranquility, clean air and the complete relaxation that comes with it.

In terms of interiors, we envisioned a guest house built in a mountain style, which carries the atmosphere typical of the mountains in both its exterior and interior features. This required custom-designed furniture made of natural materials, which we dreamed of, invented and assembled for the most part ourselves.

Our facilities have allowed only seven rooms to be designed, which will be complemented by the adjoining apartment house in the future. We have set the standard high in the quality of our services, and together with our employees we pay special attention to serving our guests, thus creating the basis for a truly family atmosphere.

Each of our rooms comes with breakfast and dinner, which we prepare in person in consultation with our guests. We paid attention to the quality of our cuisine, where in addition to regional (Slovak) dishes, there are other food specialties that we source from local producers.

We have also carefully thought out our mechanical solutions for sustainable development and uncompromising hospitality. On an annual basis, 80% of the hot water is produced by solar collectors, and the remaining 20% is provided by a water-filled fireplace, which also serves most of the heating demand. The rooms are heated by new-generation electric radiators that can be controlled by guests. Later, they will need energy as well. will be produced by solar panels. The toilets are rinsed with rainwater, all our taps are water-saving, our light sources work with LED technology one by one.

We hope that our guests will appreciate our efforts and, like us, will see the hidden beauties, which are not loud, not ostentatious, but which we intend to unite to contribute to the experience of perfect relaxation. We hope that as many people as possible will return to us as if they were coming home a little and appreciate our work, with which we have all built our dreams, childhood experiences, love of nature and the power of a cohesive family within the walls.
